Nine disciplines on the program
The main site chosen for this 58 th edition is unsurprisingly that of the Grande Plage, although it is not excluded that, if necessary, series are organized on the neighboring spots of the Côte des Basques, Miramar and the Milady. Nine disciplines - surfing, longboarding, stand up paddleboarding, tandem surfing, parasurfing, kneeboarding, skimboarding and bodyboarding - will be on the programme.
The 58th edition of “France” will therefore be held in Biarritz, which will host them for the 10th time in their history (1967, 1971, 1974, 1984, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016). Six years after the last edition on the Basque waves, the French surfing championships by Banque Populaire are back at the Grande Plage, the main site where the majority of the quarantine events of the nine disciplines on the program will take place.
Some 500 competitors are thus expected in Biarritz for 8 days for the emblematic competition of the federal season. Qualified with regard to the national ranking and the quotas issued for the leagues and committees, the participants will want to defend their colors, those of their clubs and their regional leagues.
These competitors come from Aquitaine, Charente, Pays de Loire, Brittany, Normandy, Languedoc, the Paca region, Reunion, Martinique, Guadeloupe, New Caledonia.
Inclusive since 2015, the French surfing championships by Banque Populaire will highlight para surfing and adapted para surfing where around ten national titles will be put into play.
