The Ocean Festival

The unmissable event for lovers of nautical activities and underwater images in Reunion offers, exceptionally, evenings of screenings of nationally award-winning films, drawing competitions, numerous activities as well as nautical activities at small price !


For a few days, the entire west coast, from the Hermitage beach to the Titan dock in the Port, becomes the scene of this event.

Program :

• June 2, 2023: Inauguration evening with screening of documentaries related to the oceans and their preservation as well as award ceremony on the Esplanade de la Baleine at the Port de Plaisance de Saint-Gilles.
  The video/photo contest is a major highlight of the Festival de l'Océan. Each year, it is an opportunity to reveal both new Péi talents and also to allow Reunionese to view real masterpieces recognized worldwide.


• June 3, 2023 : Welcome to Ocean Festival Sea Day! From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Reunionese meet at Darse Foucque au Port for a day dedicated to the sea! Visit of military ships, rescue demonstration at sea, guided tour of the port will punctuate the whole day; ;In addition to that, the day is an opportunity to learn about new free nautical activities: sailing, sea trips, kayaking... Many partners and actors of the ocean will be present for a day rich in emotions and sensations


• Saturday June 10, 2023: day of activities at Pointe de Trois-Bassins. Treasure hunt, life-size escape game, introduction to surfing: the day promises to be busy for visitors during this day! Don't miss the guided seaside walk with the Zarlors from the Western Tourist Office!


• Saturday June 17, 2023: day of activities at Pointe au Sel in Saint-Leu. This time it's in Saint-Leu that the entertainment will be full! Treasure hunt, creative workshops, culinary show with Pipangaille, awareness village, discovery of the world of fishing: an equally dense program for young and old sailors!


• From June 2 to 17, 2023, throughout the Festivcal de l'Océan period, maritime professionals offer special offers on the occasion of the Ocean Festival . Promotions can go up to 55%. Among the activities concerned: boat trip, drawing under water, getting your first dive boat license... Reservations are made directly with service providers.


• Evening of June 8: Prize-giving evening. In the presence of Julie Gautier, guest of honor and Heuzey, director and producer of underwater films, attend the evening screening of all the photos and videos of the 2023 competition, award ceremony at the Sella auditorium Matutina in Saint-Leu. Free registration.


• Another novelty for 2023 at this Ocean festival: discover the “Devenir Océan” exhibition in partnership with the Réunion Métis association. U A photographic exhibition by Aline Escalon, set to music by Arashkha to be discovered at the Boucan Canot natural swimming pool then in the swimming pools of hotels in the West between June 5 and 17, 2023.
